about me

Greetings! I'm an animator, illustrator and graphic designer based in Columbus, OH. I'm originally from Cincinnati, OH and upon gradation from Miami University in 2001 with a BFA in Painting, I taught art for grades K-8 for two years. Seeking adventure and a change of scene, I applied for the JET Programme and taught English in Japan for a year. Once my year was up I moved from Cincinnati to Columbus to attend the Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD).

I earned a second BFA in 2006 from CCAD in Time-Based Media Studies. My focuses were in 2D and 3D animation, as well as video, motion graphics, 3D illustration and interactive design. I currently work full-time as a media/text developer for Mindleaders, Inc. in Dublin, OH creating graphic design, animation and writing for the production of e-learning courseware.

I also teach at CCAD as an adjunct instructor. This semester I'm teaching Visual Narrative & Storyboard. I also do freelance animation and design work. My strengths in art are in illustration and creature design. I also enjoy flash animation and 3D sculpture. I'm a lifelong nerd; I love fantasy, science fiction, anime, Japanese language and culture, toys, and cartoons. I also love to play music; I played flute and piccolo in marching band for several years in high school and college, and for the last six years I've played a traditional Japanese instrument called the koto.

In life, there's never a dull moment, and I was born to create! I'm excited to learn what I can make for you.
